SCRAP METAL COLLECTION.
By advertisement in this issue tho Kairanga County Council requests farmers to leave all non-ferrous scrap metal at their front gates for collection on Tuesday, October 1. This collection is part of the general campaign for the saving of waste materials in order to assist the prosecution of the war, and full support is requested. The materials required are copper (such as washing coppers, cisterns, coal scuttles, fire-screens, etc.), copper wire (pieces of old electric cable flex), brass, bronze and gunmetal (laps, screws, doorsteps, rods, old bulbs and switches), aluminium (saucepans, kettles, etc.), lend (film lubes, tea wrappings, 'lead-headed , nails, cle.), and zinc (in case linings).
