Mrs Charles pre sided at the organ. f Escorted by her father, the bridi 3 made a winsome picture in a gowi j of lace embossed satin. The gatherec 3 bodice featured a V-shaped neckline 1 the full-topped sleeves narrowing ti 3 form points over tile hands, while tb skirt flared from the hips to form : 7 train, with tiny buttons from the bad 5 of the neck to the hem of the train . The beautiful veil of old Honiton lace - w'hicli fell to form a second train, wa L held in place by a halo of pearls ant - orange blossom ; it was lent by a frient in Australia. The only jewel worn b,; . the bride was a dainty topaz and pear brooch which is over 100 years old and was worn by several generation: of brides. The bride’s shower bouquei was of freesias, cyclamen, Iceland pop pies, and asparagus fern. In attendance as bridesmaids wer< Alisses Ruby Coman (sister of the bride) and Lola Earles (sister of the bridegroom), who were frocked alike ii mauve taffeta, with V-neeklines, ful puffed sleeves, fitting bodices and ful • skirts, with bustle bows in a deepei shade of velvet. Haloes of mauve tulle, with tiny velvet flowers, and tied at the back with velvet ribbon of a ‘deepei shade. They each wore a dainty brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Their bouquets were of primulas, cyclamen and irises, in shades to match their frocks. Tho duties of. best man were carried out by Air Cameron Earles (brother of tho bridegroom), while Air Rex Furness was groomsman. During the sign ing of the register ‘Airs ’AlcPherson sang “0 Perfect Love.” A delightful reception was held at which about 70 guests were -welcomed by Air and Airs Coman, the latter wearing a smart teal tailored coat, fur stole, model 'hat and navy accessories to tone; she carried a posy of anemones. Airs Earles wore l a black tailored costume and acoes sories to tone, and carried a posy of polyanthus. Alt’ Ramson was toast master, and the ' usual toasts were honoured. A number of telegrams and a cablegram of congratulation from Australia testified to the popularity of the young couple. Iceland poppies decorated the tables, while the handsome wedding cake, which was made by the bride’s mother and iced by Air Adams, formed an effective centrepiece in front of the bridal party. Later in the evening the guests adjourned to No. 514 Boundary Road, where they further enjoyed the hospitality of Air and Airs Coman and viewed the extensive array of wedding presents laid out in the sitting-room. AVhen the young couple left by car on their honeymoon, the bride appeared for travelling in a becoming -woollen I suit of new spring grey, with navy model straw hat and accessories, and a handsome fur stole. Air and Airs Earles will make their home in Palmerston North, prior to the bridegroom entering camp for service overseas. A happy time was spent at St. Peter’s Hall. Ruahine Street, on September 26, ivhen members of the choir and the Y'oung People’s Club met to honour Mr and Mrs C. Earles. Air Charles apologised for the absence of Air and Airs Ramson, who were both indisposed, and took the opportunity to wish Air and Airs Earles long life, happiness, and prosperity. He called on Mrs Earles to open numerous gifts. They were accorded musical honours, after which Mr Earles replied. Air Bruce Taylor supplied the music for dancing and Aliss B. Williams - delighted the company with two solos, Mrs AlcPherson accompanying 'her on the piano.
