A record number of 150 players are taking part in the Miramar »Ladies’ Golf Club’s open tournament, which began yesterday, Mrs G. F. Ferguson; Auckland Club champion, who now resides in Wellington, headed the qualifying rounds for the open championship, recording a brilliant round of 77. She went out in 37 and returned in 40. In the afternoon she covered the course in 84. Her 77 will reduce her handicap from 5 to 4.
