WEDDING.
KENSINGTON—REEVE
A quiet wedding took place at All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, on August 21, when Iris Merle, only child of Mr and Mrs C. Reeve, ot Bryant Street, was married to Charles, second son of Mr and Mrs W. Kensington, of Shamrock Street, Palmerston North. Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward performed the ceremony, with Mr L. Drake at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming handworked frock of crushed rose satin-backed crepe, and a picture hat of pink felt in the same toning. She carried a bouquet of cyclamen, pink camellias and maidenhair fern.
Miss Edna Tonkin, who was bridesmaid, wore a frock in the new seafoam, and a turban of felt in the same shade. She carried a bouquet of pink blossom, stock and maidenhair fern. The flowergirl, Yvonne Bauzaid, niece of the bridegroom, wore a sweet little frock ancl Juliet cap of apple green cloque, trimmed with little bows of black velvet ribbon. She carried a basket of pink blossom, camellias and fern.
The bridegroom was attended by Air Oxley Hughan, of AVellington, cousin of the bride.
On leaving the vestry, the bride was presented with a horse-shoe as a token of luck by Miss Constance Callesen. After the ceremony the reception was held at the Rosco tearooms, where Airs Reeve ; wearing a black ensemble relieved with pink, and assisted by. Airs Kensington, wearing a black costume and hat, welcomed the guests. The bride and bridegroom later left by car amid showers of confetti for their honeymoon, which was spent in Hawke’s Bay. The bride looked very smart in an ensemble of Burgundy shade and a smart coachman’s hat to tone. The lucky couple were the recipients of many beautiful presents, including a number of cheques, from their friends.
