The members of St. Andrcwis Men’s Club held their ladies’ night last evening, when a Scottish concert was presr ented. An attendance of about. 120 members, their wives aud friends, was presided over by Mr J. A. Grant. Following the repeating of the Lord’s Prayer, the chairman welcomed the visito ■». R War nock. Items by the Manawatu Scottish Society’s Highland Pipe Band, under Pipe-Major V. J. Nicholson, opened and -closed a programme of community singing, led by Mr T. P„ Henderson, songs by Messrs Rowlands, Henderson and W. B. Teiinent, Scot-, tish dances, by Miss Y. N’cholson, and humorous items by Mr W, Oliver. Mr C. Teppett played the. piano accompaniments. A competition, conducted by Messrs D. Ga McLennan., and L. Poole, was won by Mrs J. Hubbard.
