ROAD CYCLING.

' FIFTY-MILE CHAMPIONSHIP. The unpaccd 50-mile championship of the Palmerston North Amateur Cycling Club was held on Saturday, the winner being 11. Donovan. The riders started at three-min etc intervals' and no pacing was allowed. The course was from West Street crossing to Himatangi, .to Sanson and back to the usual finishing place in Rangitikei Street. O. Campbell, the runner-up, was fresher than Donovan in tho concluding stage and gained three minutes on him on tho run in from Awahuri, but this was not sufficient to will the championship. Results were:—

Championship.—ll. Donovan, 2hr lOmin 23scc; runner-up, O. Campbell, 2hr 13rnin 11 l-ssee. Sealed handicap D. Hussy. Donovan’s time was 4min faster than his time for tho championship last year.
