RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, Sopt. 19. The Marton quota towards the relief of distress in London, which is approximately £2OO, lias already been substantially subscribed by an amount of £135 received from the Ngati Pikiahu-Wae Wae (Onepuhi) Maori Patriotic Committee. The effort to raise £SO for the dispatch overseas of 150 parcels for Marton men closed on Tuesday with the. sum of £65 14s. At a meeting of the management committee of the Rangitikei Cricket Association, Mr 11. F. Arkwright, presiding, the chairman stated that the association would be pleased to welcome ono if not two cricket teams from the Ohakea Air Force Cricket Club as suggested by the secretary of that club. The Taihape Railway Club notified that it would not be entering a team in the competitions this season owing to a shortage of players. It was decided to refer the matter of the advisability of continuing Hawke Cup nunches this season the annual meeting.
