PERSONAL.

Mr J. Watt, of Kimbolton, has been elected to fill tlie vacancy on the committee of the Feilding Jockey Club caused by the death of Mr T. O’Neill. The Wanganui Education Board has elected Mr J. F. R. Wallace (Marton) as its representative on the Feilding Agricultural High School Board in place of Mr J. W. Batchelor, whose term of office has expired. Mr Batchelor did not seek re-election.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Kiwitea County Council reference was made to the illness of the chairman (Cr. L. T. McLean) and wishes for his early recovery were expressed. It wias stated by Mr W. L. Hesseltine (clerk) that the chairman is making satisfactory progress.

Mrs M. I. Francis, _ of Wellington Street, is visiting Wellington till tho end of the month.
