STRAY DOGS

DAMAGE IN GARDEN RESERVES. Tile hu.rdy annual which the Borough Council pays to have planted in the square gardens and other reserves are not hardy enough to withstand the ravaging effect of stray town dogs which appear to delight in burying and later unearthing bones in the garden plots., The matter has: been frequently mentioned by Cr W. Andrews at meetings of the council, but the nuisance continues to 'cause the gardeners concern. The fact that Feilding is an important stock centre has been mentioned as a reason for not taking drastic action in ' the effort to rid the garden's of . the nuisance, but it is pointed out by residents that the dogs are not stock dogs and are simply uncontrolled stray -canines.
