NORTH AMERICAN DEFENCES,

OTTAWA, Sept. 17

Tho Canadian and United States Joint Defence Board announces a decision to conduct an immediate and elaborate survey of the West Coast defences, including the North-Western States, British Columbia and Alaska. The Canadian members of the board will leave by air lor’trie coast to-mor-row for a tonr of inspection, w.hich will be the subject later of a full meeting on the Pacific Coast.
