RUGBY FOOTBALL.

HOROWHENUA CHAMPIONSHIP. Tho Rugby football season in Horowhenua was closed on Saturday when the replay of the senior championship final was held between Foxton and Shannon, the former winning by 12 points to 8. On the previous Saturday both teams had played a draw. The winning team’s points came from two penalty goals kicked by J. Devonshire and two unconverted tries scored by E. Devonshire and H. Robinson. Shannon’s points were made up of a penalty goal and a' try scored .by A. Woods and a conversion by D. Pedersen. At the conclusion of the game Mr W. Cl. Hannan, president of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, presented tho Ramsbottom and Nash Cups to D. Chrystall, captain of the Foxton team. *
