MARTON. Sept. 16. At a meeting of the Marton A .and P. Association arrangements were made .and committees appointed for tho next annual

show. The third and final qualifying round of the Marton golf championships was played on Saturday afternoon in conjunction with a stroke competition which was won by N. D. Anderson, 81—14 —67. with A. Fullcrton-Smith, runner-up with 73 5 - 68. The following Qualified lor the senior championship: A. Fullerlon-Smith, R. S. Fullcrton-Smith. A. D. Fullcrton-Smith, M. C. Fcnwicke. F. J. Christenson. K. Ellery. It. W. Atmore, and N. D. Anderson The junior qualifiers were: H. W. Collier, M. Atkinson, C. \V hitford, L. Rathbono B. Cochran, M. C. Aniadio, S W. Morrison. K. A. Fullerton-Snulh, F. Wood, IC W. Glasgow, D. B. Sladdch. T C. Ward, G. G. Oliver,. A. W. Tucker, E. Oliver and C. D. A. Taylor. With a score of 148. A. Fullerton-Smith- beaded the lift of 'qualifiers. Members took, the opportunity to farewell Dr. T.'G. Harper, who is going on active scry-ice. , If an epidemic broke out at U)6‘ Waiouru Territorial Camp, the Wanganui Hospital Board would take overt ,;.;:the Marton Jockev Club’s buildings,'' ■ and convert them into art emergency, hospital, according to aJvice given by.. Mr A. ■ S. Coleman, a member of the board, to. a meeting of the general committee of the Marton A. and P. Association. The board had obtained authority, to take over the buildings at any time, said Mr Coleman, and if it did take such action the association could not possibly bold its, annual show at the racecourse next rear.' Mr A. Way. secretary, said that officers of the Health Department had already inspected the buildings and bad decided .on several including the installation nf several bathrooms. Sergeant-Gunner W/ D. Hamer, of the R.A.F.. received suitable presentations. from the staff of the Post and Telegraph Department in Marton, where be had worked, the Miniature Rifle Club and the Nursing Division of the St. John Ambulance, when he was home at Marton on leave at the week-end.
