SUCCESS AGAINST NAZIS.
PALMERSTON NORTH AIRMAN. Advice was received in Palmerston North by private cablegram at the week-end that Mr R. Young, son of Mr and Mrs J. C. Young, of North Street, was concerned in an air combat in which lie destroyed a Dornier 17 and a Junkers 88. The British _ plane was itself then attacked by eighteen Messersclimitts and, although it was badly damaged, was landed safely. Mr Young, who was trained as an airgunner at Ohakea, lias now been promoted to the rank of pilot-officer.
