BEAULIVRE'S STAKES.
HIGH CASTE BEATEN. SYDNEY, September 15. Continuing his winning way, Beaulivrc completed the hat-trick on Sa. urday when he won the rich Chelmsford Slakes at Tattersal.'s meeting at Eandwick. He also established superiority over High Caste, but the latter showed more dash on Saturday than in his recent races and an interesting dud between the pair is expected in the Epsom Handicap, for which they are almost equal favourites. Tho jockey Munro expressed the opinion that Ajax will have a hard (ask to beat Beaulivrc in the weight-for-age races in Melbourne in October and November. Their first clash io likely to be hi the Caulfield Stakes. Boauiivre's time for the Chelmsford Stakes on Saturday, 1.51 J, was actually as meritorious as Heroic’s 1.50£ in 1924, as, because of the false rail in use on Saturday, Beaulivrc covered 27 yards more than the customary distance of nine furlongs. Bcaulivre may not race again until tho Epsom. Ho is thoroughly fit and needs no further racing. He would he penalised in the Hill Stakes on September 21, and that race is not easy to win with a penalty. Mc.Menamin may ride Mildura in tho Epsom. Beau Vile’s mission is the Metropolitan. The jockey Cook has been released from his_ Early Bird mount in the Epsom and will ride Reading. The diminutive apprentice jockey 0. Young, a son of Gloaming’s former rider, achieved his first win on Pinero. Chief results:— TRAMWAY HANDICAP. —Telastur, 7.3 (Knox); 1: Katanga, 7.13, 2; Radical, 8.3, 3. A head: a length. Time, 1.25.
