NATIONAL PARTY.

The monthly bridge afternoons, which have been held throughout the winter, by the bridge committee of the National Party, with Mrs D. Black as convener, were concluded on Friday, when Mrs J. H. Whyte (secretary) in the unavoidable absence of the president (Mrs W. F. Field) thanked all helpers and supporters. Mrs Whyte pointed out that these very popular and enjoyable afternoons had resulted in substantial donations being made to various patriotic funds. Mrs H. G. Mills presented the prizes for the year, which were donated by Mrs F. Gowing, Mrs H. A-. Seifert and Miss C. Warburton, as follow: —Aggeregate: Contract, Miss Rogerson 1, Mrs Radford 2; auction, Mrs Bee 1, Mrs Greenbank 2. Hidden number: Contract, Miss Rogerson 1, Mrs Edwards 2; auction, Miss Sim 1, Mrs Sinclair 2.
