Mrs C. P. Olsen, of Ballancc, is a pafient in a private hospital. Air R. Waison, of Oamaru, North Otago, is the guest of liis brother, Ur E, B. Watson, of Main Street. Miss Koitiia Wright, has been appointed treasurer of the Pahiatua branch of the pod Cross Society.
At the "Pahiatua Coif Club flic bogey round for the Watson Clip was won by A Uonald with a score of 1 down. The following senior championship games have been • played: J. Swainson beat It. Mills, 4 and 3; A. Donald beat N. Judd at. the 21»t; J. Richardson beat M. Wilson, 4 and 3; and in the second round J. Richardson beat A. Donald, 1 up. In the junior championship’ Cob beat Wilton and Buckingham beat Sillett. The draw for the final of the Day Cup is: J. Richardson v. A: J. A [organ; A. Donald v. S. K. Siddells. A chess match played between teams’ from the Pahiatua High School Club and the Pahiatua Chess Club was won by the former by 4j games to I£. The Pahiatua club’s 'tourney for the president’s trophy was won by Air W. J. Mills: the runnersup were Alcssrs C. Sicvers and V. Boy one.
