For the first day of the Avondale spring meeting there was fine weather. The course was in good order and the attendance large. Results: IvINGSLAND HURDLES, of £250. Ono mile and a-half.—2-2 Midland, 10.4 (Curran), 1; 6-6 Race Whip, 9.8 2; 1-1 Lapidarian, 9.13 3. Scr: Little Ruse. Half a length each way. Time, 2.43 2-5. TRIAL PLATE, of £2OO. Seven fur-longs.—lo-10 Aquila, 8.2 (Ilain), 1; 3-3 Expellant, 8.2, 2; 7-7 Rara Avis, 8.2, 3. Scr: Chcddington, Karatoki, Master Warden, Desert Tide. Half a length; threequarters of a length. Time, 1.27. Tea Blossom was coupled with Expellant. HENDERSON HANDICAP, of £2OO. Six furlongs.—l-1 Monte Cristo, 8.12 (Goulsbro), 1; 5-6 Chain Acre, 8.4, 2; 10-10 Kindergarten, 8.1, 3. Scr: Brahman, Biddy Girl, Jungle King, Bronze Bird. One and and a had lengths; a length. Time, 1.13 3-5.
