DAMAGING RAIDS.
ITALIAN ADMISSION
(Rec. 12.25 p.m.) ROME, Sept. 13. A communique states: An Italian submarine has reached its base after sinking a 10,000-ton tanker and an 8000-ton cargo vessel in the Atlantic. /•Italian aircraft have continued their night and day raids against enemy concentrations, motorised units, and other military objectives on the Egyptian coast. They set fire to an oil depot and damaged several enemy lorries, armoured ears and tanks. Other formations successfully attacked the encampment and barracks at Abidia. also a column of 20 lorries near El Chature (Kenya). “The enemy raided Massawa by air four times yesterday and damaged a building. They also bombed Assab, destroying a hospital and some buildings in the centre of the town, causing six death i and some tyounded among the Italian native population. Other enemv air raids on Asmara and Gnra caused slight damage, and the bombing of the aerodromes at Djimma and C.hachamana Jnflicted slirrht damage ‘and nine casualties. Italian fighters shot down one enemy plane.” A Turin message says five soldiers and one civilian were killed and several people were injured while digging out an unexploded bomb which the British dropped on the Fiat works some days ago.
