PRESENTATIONS TO AIRMEN
Sergeant-Gunner Richard McKenzie and Sergeant-Gunner Victor Ferguson, of the R.N.Z.A.F., who proceed to Wellington to-morrow, were met by the Mayor (Mr T. L. Seddon), Mr C. H. Tate (town clerk), Hon. J. G. Cobbe, M.P., Mr F. J. Allen (vice-president of the Feilding R.S.A.) and Mr K. M. Little (secretary of the Feilding Patriotic Society), yesterday afternoon, and presented with leather wallets enclosing a 10s note and a card wishing the recipients success and a safe return. In making the presentations Mr Seddon said it was unnecessary to say that he hoped the guests would acquit themselves well in the tasks ahead. This he knew they would do. The people of Feilding would think of them in the future activities of the Air Force. Mr Seddon. concluded by wishing the guests the best of luck and a safe return. Mr Allen assured the guests that the R.S.A. yould watch their interests and welcome them when they returned. The fact that they were to serve overseas would make them eligible for membership in the R.S.A. when they returned. He concluded l>y wishing the airmen good luck. Mr Cobbe congratulated the men on being members of the Air Force and was confident that they would distinguish themselves. He hoped to have the
opportunity of welcoming them homo .again fit and well. Both recipients expressed their thanks. Sergeant-Gunner McKenzie is a son of Mr and Mrs It. M. McKenzie, of Sandon Itoad, and Sergeant-Gunner Ferguson is a son of Mr and Mrs 11. H. Ferguson, of Aorangi. j
