School Concert. At tlie Alanchester Street School a concert was held last evening in aid of the school funds. The chairman oi the committee (Air Z. McLeod) announced that the takings were well over £3O and he thanked the parents and friends for tlfcir patronage and the children for the excellent manner in which they had rendered the items. He congratulated tho headmaster (Air F. J. Gaze) and the teaching staff on the performance, which reflected the fact that the children had keen well trained. The programme was contributed by the Primers, P. Franco, Standard 2 boys, Standard 1, I. Galbraith, V. Page, W. Huddleston, M. Ware, Standard 4. A. Brabyn, Miss Short’s pupils, school choir, Standards 3 and 4 girls, B. Eado, N. Goldsack and N. Tremain, Form I, N. Cloland, Z. Clark, N. Wildbore and V. Joll, AI. Hulse Form 11. and the choir. Educational Films.

Inspector C. N. Pilkington, road traffic inspector instructor tor the education of school children, was a visitor to Feilding to-day, whan, accompanied by Inspector l). M. Ford, he visited the.. High School and the Xaonui School and showed educational films entitled “Play the Game” and “Spinning Wheels.” Mr Pilkington comes from Auckland and is making a tour of the Wellington Province at present. Discussing nis work, he said that he would have liked to have visit ed all the schools in the district, but unfortunately' time would not permit, as he had to get back to Auckland, in which district he had over 600 schools to visit; The films were prepared by the Transport Department and are specially suitable for showing to children. They contain an interesting story and impress upon the juvenile mind tlie importance of observing tho traffic signs for their safety. The visitor’ is Hie guest.of Air and Mrs Ford during his stay in Feilding.
