TE AVIV RAIDED CIVILIANS KILLED. (United Press Association —Copyright.) Received Sept. 12, 10.15 a.m. JERUSALEM, Sept. 11. One hundred and twelve people were killed and 151 were injured when Italian planes carried out an intensive raid on Tel Aviv. Bombs fell in the residential district, demolishing several houses starting fires. A number were also killed and injured in an adjacent Arab village. An Army communique says the enemy bombed Tel Aviv indiscriminately, far from military objectives. The Palestine wireless reports that some Americans were killed. Enemy planes raided Mersa, Matruli (Egypt)* where slight damage was done but no casualties were reported, the Army communique adds. A British patrol successfully encountered a party of Banda at El Katulo, on tho northern frontier of Kenya. R.A.F. SUCCESSES. A communique issued by the R.A.E. states: “Our bombevs on Monday successfully attacked aerodromes and liarhours in Eastern Libya. Two grounded enemy planes were destroyed by direct hits when Derna aerodrome was raided. In the El Gazala, Bomba and El Timimi areas bombs fell among planes on slipways. Columns of smoke 1500 feet high followed explosions after an attack on objectives in the Tobruk, El Gubbi and El Aden areas. All tbo planes returned from all these operations. “Enemy bombers raided Sidi Barram (l«>ypt) on Monday. There were no casualties. The R.A.F. attacked Dessie (Abyssinia), where military buildings were destroyed. Enemy fighters unsuccessfully attempted to intercept. Assab, Massawa, Asmara, the Abdel Kader Peninsula and Metenune were all raided. One Caproni was shot down.”
