AIR TRAINEE KILLED.

ACCIDENT AT OHAKEA

WALKED INTO PROPELLER

A fatal accident occurred at the Ohakca Aerodrome about G p.m. yesterday, the victim being Aircraftsman Arthur Jessop, aged 22 years, a son of Mr A. L. Jessop, of Rongotea. It is understood that Aircraftsman Jessop moved into a spinning propeller on a stationary aeroplane and was terribly mutilated by the blades. An inquest was'opened last evening by the Coroner (Mr J. S. Tingey), and after evidence of identification had been taken it was adjourned. A Press Association message from Wellington says Aircraftsman Jessop was starting the outside port motor of a DHB6 aircraft while the inside motor was running, and apparently walked into the spinning propeller of the inside motor. He was killed instantly. A Court of Inquiry is to be held to-day.
