Joining the New Zealand Military Forces as a chaplain, Rev. H- G. Taylor, vicar of Ivaitaia for the past two and a-liaif years, has gone into camp at Papakura with the Fourth Reinforcements.

Hon. R. Semple, Minister of National Service, was a .visitor to Palmerston North to day, having several engagements, including a meeting'with representatives of local bodies in regard to the Emergency Corps Regulations. Lieutenant-Colonel W. A. Ebbs, the new Chief Secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, who has arrived at Wellington from America, has had wide experience abroad. He was for three years in France, two years in Belgium, and five and a-half in Italy, and he has just finished four years in Pittsburg.
