INDO-CHINA MOVE.
EVACUATION ORDERED. DEADLOCK REPORTED. (Rec. 9 a.m.) KWEILIN, Sept. 10. It is authoritatively stated that the Indo-China Government has ordered the immediate evacuation of all European women and children from border towns, such as Kachang and Langson. The French and Japanese negotiations are reported to have reached a. deadlock, following the departure of the two clriefs of the Japanese mission, states a message from Hanoi. French quarters are favourably impressed by the reports of alleged negotiations between Washington and Moscow, which arc regarded as of the highest importance to Indo-China’s future. DUTCH INDIES DEFENCE. LONDON, Sept. 9. The British United Press correspondent in Batavia says the Japanese delegation arriving on September 12 will find the Dutch East Indies on a virtual war footing, with bomb shelters constructed and other air raid precautions organised. Volunteer forces training under martial law include anti-parachute units. There is great, public satisfaction at the arrival of a shipment of Curtiss fighters from America.
