S.P.C.A.
At a monthly meeting of the Feilding S.P.C.A. Mrs AG Morphy presided and others present were Mrs Craig, Miss AA’riglit (secretary), and Messrs Coleman and Led (inspector). The society lias appointed Mr J. Haycock as collector. It was decided that complaints between neighbours be referred to the president, in whose hands the decision should rest as .to whether the inspector should attend the case or not. Some of the complaints, it was stated, have been without foundation and caused much inconvenience to the inspector. A donation' of £2 2s, from the Borough Council was received with thanks, and also two contributions from the Ann Buckley Estate. The inspector reported that all was well at the saleyards and auction marts. He was watching the bobby calf trade •closely ; these small animals were being expeditiously dealt with at the local abattoirs. A case of cruelty was reported from Bulls of a cow being severely thrashed. The matter had been referred to the police as the S.P.C.A. was unable to send an inspector so far afield.
