(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, Sept. 9,
A mooting of the Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held recently, when invitations were received from the Bunnvthorpe Guild to attend a social afternoon, also from the local Anglican Ladies’ Guild to the eighteenth birthday of the Mothers’ Union. Mrs Neale, the oldest member, was presented with a beautiful shoulder spray, the occasion being the attaining of her 89th birthday. The hostesses were Mcsdamcs Brewer, Blows and Schnel. A social was held at the home of Mr and Mrs V. Muldrock. I'cilding Load, on a recent evening, when there was a good representation of church 'members and friends. Games and competitions were held and a collection was taken up in aid of circuit funds, when a good response resulted in £4 9s being raised. Rev. R. Richards moved a vote of thanks to the host and hostess for the use of their home. At the rcecnt Red Cross examination hold at Ashhurst the following seven candidates passed the elementary examination in home nursing: Mrs A. J. Farneil, Mrs J. Flowers, Miss T. Walker, Mrs I. Mullins, Mrs Fox, Rev. R. Richards, Mrs Faulk.
