OROUA SUB-UNION. The first round of the Oroua. Rugby Sub-Union’s competition was brought to a close on Saturday. The match between Kimbolton and AVaituna resulted in a draw, 6-all, while Apiti and Rangiwahia, in a tight struggle, also i emerged with honours equal, 3-all. Points gained in the round were: Apiti 9, AVaituna 8, Rangiwahia 6 and Kimbolton. 1. The following players will represent Oroua in a match against Manawatu B at Kimbolton on Saturday;—ll. Gibb, Elliott, Young. AV. Gibb, F. Sowerby, Bielski, C. Elliott, Bourke, Coley, S. Thompson, P. Shannon, L. Thompson, Bell, R. Shannon, Lawrence. Emergencies; Backs, Cameron, Marland, Booker; forwards, Smith, Crowther, B. Shannon. Mr Boy Shannon will act as coach arid Mr N. J. Guylee manager. Senior, junior and primary school teams will be engaged in a seven-aside tourney at Rangiwnhia the following Saturday. The Beard Cup competition will commence at the end of the month.
