By the death of Mr William R. Gordon, Dunedin has lost one of its oldest and best-known business men. It is half a century since he left school and went straight into the employ of Neill and Coy., merchants, with whom he was associated up to the time of his death. The executive council of the Bank Officers’ Guild has conferred life membership upon Mr G. G. Littlejohn, assistant general manager .of the National Bank, who was primarily responsible for the founding of the guild 21 years ago, and Mr E. G. Edwards, also of the National Bank, Wellington, who has for the last three years held the position of president of the guild: Mr, R. C.
