LITTLE THEATRE.

PATRIOTIC APPEAL ASSISTED. The Little Theatre staged a revival of the recent successful production “The Soul of Nicholas Snyders” (Jerome Iv. Jerome), on Saturday night, in aid of the Red Cross and St. John Appeal. There was a large and appreciative audience and it is hoped to hand over a good amount to the fund. A performance consistent with the high standard set at the original presentation was given, the only'alteration in the cast being the substitution of Mr R. Allison for Mr G. H. Lusk as the Pedlar, the latter being unavoidably detained out of town. Mr Allison acquitted himself very creditably considering the brief time lie had had to study the part. The other members of the cast were: Messrs A. G. A. Baigent (Nicholas Snyders), A. Gibsone (Jan), A. Coles (Pieter Bles), F. Aishcr (Burgomaster), E. Cook (Glaas), Rev. D. V. de Candole (Stoop), Mesdames R. Stubbs (Christina), C. L. Turnbull (Dame Toelast), T. Bennett (Vrow Molenaar) and Miss Suzanne Lewer (a child). Good teamwork was a feature of the perform 7 anee, for although the parts varied greatly in type and scope it was difficult to choose between the acting abilities of the performers. The producer was Miss P. Harman, who was assisted by Miss I. Nettlefold (properties), Mrs G. J. Ba'gnall (wardrobe), Messrs S. Bradfield (lighting), J. P. Harman (scenery), R. Allison (sound effects), Misses L. Bennett (prompt), B. Chrystall (calls), C. Cairns, R. Parker and R. Fenwick (make-up). Thanks were extended to those who had assisted the society, including Mr A. Just for the loan of a parrot. At the conclusion of the play flowers were presented to the lady members of the cast.
