CHURCH CONFERENCE.

Anglican Church ministers; in the Wellington Diocese met at All Saints Church, Palmerston North, yesterday, to confer on matters affecting . the Church in' the present war. The Bishop of Wellington (Rt. Rev. H. Holland) presided He stated to a “Manawatu Standard” reporter that the Church had its problems because of the war, and these were being discussed. Ministers from all over the diocese were attending, Palmerston North being chosen because of its central situation. The conference would conclude to-day. Ministers attending the conference were present at the gathering of tho Citizens’ Lunch Club. They included the Bishop, Archdeacon J. RYoung (Wanganui), Archdeacon E. J. Rich (Masterton), Archdeacon F. H. Petrie (Feilding), Canon D. J. Davies (St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Wellington), Canon G. Y. Woodward (Palmerston North), Canon H. Watson (Marton), Rev. H. Rennie (Petone), Rev. C. Webster (Mangaweka), Rev. M. Underhill (llaetihi) and Rev. J. Holland (Featherston).
