BED CROSS APPEAL

£6OOO ENVISAGED. The Rod Cross Appeal in tho Feilding district (Zone E) is nearing completion and the response has not only been liberal but in many instances most generous. Yesterday the treasurer (Mr C. 11. Tate) announced that the cash receipts to date totalled £6044 12s lOd, thero being over £753 paid in yesterday. Receipts yesterday included a splendid elfort from tho lialcoinbe area where the collectors handled £289 12s lid. From the tuna area came a cheque for £BB 8s sd, while the collectors at Rangiotu contributed £177 14s 6d to yesterday’s total. An addiitonal amount of £174 7s 6d was received from the Sanson-Ohakea district, bringing the total for that section up to £250. While it was at first anticipated that the appeal would produce £4OOO, it is now estimated that witli additional' amounts still to come in the total will reach £6ooo— effort which may be regarded as highly satisfactory and worthy of the largo district involved.
