Drew attended and authorised those present as a committee (with power to add) to be collecting agents for tho Sick and Wounded Fund and any further similar appeals that may bo made. Boundaries were defined, the Kopanc district being included with Awahuri. Mrs E. O. Bond, Messrs W. MacCallum. E, J. Morgan, L. Lancaster, H. Matthews and J. C. Christian made a house-to-house canvass and were able to forward £221 9s 6d to Feilding. For some time past several ladies of tho district have been meeting each week at the home of Mrs E. 0. Bond and making comforts for soldiers going overseas. To date, pay-book covers, scarves, mittens and balaclavas have been made with material and wool supplied from Feilding, together with about eight dozen hussifs, completely filled, and several dozen hospital bags made and sent forward as gifts. In order to keep the guild going the ladies have organised a dance, the proceeds of which are to buy material and goods for making such comforts. Particulars will bo advertised in Saturday’s “Manawatu Standard.”
