(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, June 5. Rain fell at Otaki Beach on 20 days last month, with a total fall of '3Jin. Snow fell on the ranges on six days, while two frosts were recorded. Mr and Mrs A. D. Webster, accompanied by the Misses Webster, left to-day for Wellington, with the intention of joining a boat for Melbourne. Vital statistics for Otaki for May were: — Births: European 8, Maori nil; deaths, European 1, Maori nil; marriage licenses issued 2. Members of the Otaki Miniature Rifle Club 'concluded the final shoot for the opening match, the first two places being won by lady competitors—Mies A. Freeman and Mrs J. Potts.
