Rae)’, that'tlie offer was made by the students, most of whom are between 17 and 19 years old, prior to the announcement by the Government _ot its intention to call up Territorials ior consolidated training and to tliejr numerical strength. The move wa3 the outcome of a desire by the students to play a more active part in training and to stimulate public interest. The students were ready to give up . any of their own time to military training.
