ITALY AND ALLIES.
PARIS, June 4. The Premier (M. Iteynaud), in a statement to the Senate Foreign Affairs Commission, 6aid: “If Italy enters the war she will do so deliberately, for the sole purpose of waging war. Signor Mussolini knows there is no provocation in the Anglo-French attitude. AVe have never closed, and do not close now, the door to any negotiations.” A Rome message says 51 measures approved by the Italian Cabinet included the substitution of women for mobilised men on the staffs of public offices, provision for the strictest wartime discipline for workers in all war industries, and the establishment of a special body to collect scrap-iron and copper. . A meeting of the Fascist Grand Council for to-night was cancelled. 'A Moscow message says the newspaper Trud says Italy’s sabre-rattling against the Allies is only aimed to conceal her plans for aggression in the Balkans. The first shots in the Mediterranean might be a prelude to occupation of the Dalmatian coast.
