HltLEIt AT THEIR DOORSTEP. NEW YORK, June 5. The Britisli Ambassador (Lord Lothian) in an address criticised the democracies’ peacetime blunders. He warned Americans that Hitler intended to gain control of the British and French fleet bases this year, and added: “There will be no superior armed Power to prevent Hitler and his friends thundering at your doorstep if they want to.” Lord Lothian emphasised that he was not attempting to advise America what to do, but neither should America “offer us any advice about what we should do with our Navy if and when a tragic crisis comes,”
