MUNICIPAL BAND

‘ GENERAL COMMITTEE. The general committee of the Feilding Municipal Band met on Tuesday, Mr T. Collins presiding. A donation of £2 2s from the Mt. Stewart Memorial, Committee, in appreciation o: the services, ef the band,- at the unveiling ceremony, was received with thanks. It was resolved that _the Dannevirke Band be again approached, asking that a meeting of delegates be held to discuss, tlie question of carrying on with the district contest. .The conductor reported that a fair standard was being maintained in the band. The meeting accorded a special vote of thanks to Miss M. Fowder for her services as secretary in connection with the recent carnival. Messrs Stevens and Wood were appointed a visiting committee. The band members were authorised to take steps, if possible, to arrange a series of -winter dances. The band agreed to lead the parade of Territorials for churcli service later in the month.
