FLIERS MISSING.

THREE NEW ZEALANDERS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 5. Pilot-Officer Reginald ’ William Rootes, son of Mr and Mrs C. Rootes. of Rongotai, is missing and believed to have lost his life during air operations, according to a cablegram received by his parents. Pilot-Officer Rootes, who was aged 20, was very keenly interested in aviation. Before joining the ground staff of the Wellington Aero Club he spent all his spare time at the aerodrome. He was two years on the ground staff and was then appointed to a short-service commission in the R.A.F. He left for England last July and only recently completed his navigation course, and had just been transferred to the bombers. His father, who is control officer at Rongotai Aerodrome, was in the R.A.F. in the last war. Pilot-Officer Leonard Miller, of the Royal Air Force, was reported missing on operations on May 19. His mother is Mrs S. L. Miller, Mount Roskill, Auckland. Mrs Gwynne Potts, of Taupo. has been informed that her son, PilotOfficer lan Geoffrey Gwynne Potts, is missing as a result of air operations on Saturday.
