TIAKITAHUNA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIAKIT-AHUNA, June 3.
At a meeting held in the hall at the le- i sidence of Mr and Mrs R. Tanner, Look- 1 wood, Karere, and Tiakitahuna residents were represented in the discussion of a society to aid soldiers from the district. Mr Callesen was in the chair and suggestions were made that the three districts co-operate and functions he held to rais.e funds. Mr Callesen aiid Mr Tanner kindly offered the use of their private halls, and it was understood that the Tiakitahuna Hall would also bo available. It was decided that a representative. committee be elected, as follows: . Messrs A., Buchanan (chairman), R. Tanner, junr. (secretary). J. Callesen (treasurer), D. B. McEwen, R. Tanner, sonr., D. Walker. Bee, B. Mitchell, Mesdames R. Tanner, junr., D. Vowels, H. Voss, H. N. McEwen, W. Pell, A. Buchanan. J. Callesen, Misses L. Hearsey, I. Holder, M. Rowland and I. Fell. The committee met and arranged for a social and dance.
