ORDEAL OVER
ALLIES’ BRAVERY. EXAMPLE TO ENEMY. HIS MAJESTY’S MESSAGE. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) Received June 5, 11 a.m. lUJGBY, June 4. The King lias addressed to tlie President of the French Republic (M. Lebrun) the following telegram: “Our armies of the north, fighting side by side, have, with tliq help of the fearless and unflinching efforts of the Allied Navies and Air Forces, come through the ordeal that has proved their courage, discipline, and fighting power.
“The gallantry of this comradeship in arms has shown the enemy the measure of the Allied bravery and resolution which will meet him in the battles that are to come,” stated His Majesty. “May I express to you, M. le President, the profound gratitude and admiration with which I and all my peoples have followed the great part played in these historic events by the French armed forces. “We sympathise in the losses that France has sustained, but recognise in them the measure of French lieioism and devotion.”
