Soil for a lawn was required, in addition to a number of shrubs. It was further stated that the heating system was not giving entire satisfaction. Reference was made to the recent function held in honour of Mr and Mrs G. J. Fitzpatrick, and it was decided to place on record the committee’s appreciation of the service rendered by Mr Fitzpatrick as chairman of the committee and a member for many years. A letter of appreciation was received from’ Mr Fitzpatrick . acknowledging the . tribute paid to himself and Mrs Fitzpatrick. The Wanganui Education Board advised that the supplementary grant would be approximately £2O per month, and Fir Gaze commented that the amount paid to the school was based on the average attendance; he considered the allocation should be paid according to the average roll number.
