COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

A roming-of-age party was held in the Foresters’ Hall on May 25, the guest of honour being Mr Albert Goodwin. The party was given by his parents, Mr and Mrs A. J. Goodwin, who entertained friends from Stratford, Dannevirke, Palmerston North. Wellington and Christchurch. About one hundred guests enjoyed the evening, which was spent in dancing and items presented by Miss D. Carlson and Mr Howard, from Christchurch The Monte Carlo was won by, i Mis? Sonia Carnc and Mr McGee; ..Juckv Gay Gordons, Miss Elma Prentice and Mr IV. McConaghty; lucky spot, Miss Joyce Hehir and Mr Ross Carlson. Extras were supplied by Mr C. Fell and Mrs O’Connell. The usual toasts were honoured. Mr A. Ward proposed the toast of the guest of honour and Mr Holgerson that of the parents,.who suitably 'replied. The guest of honour thanked his friends for the numerous gifts received. Congratulations were received from Mr and Mrs Burns (Waipukurau') and Mrs T. Maite (Stratford)? Mr Keith Nicol ably carried out the duties of M.C.
