(From Out Own Correspondent.) . COLYTON, June 4. Mr J. Walker's woo'lslicd at Aratika was tho scene of a bright gathering when friends gathered for the dual purpose of honouring the Misses Beattie and Lorna Dungey, who are shortly‘to be married, and bidding farewell to Mr and Mrs \V. .0. Caldwell, who aro leaving the district to live in Feilding. Dancing was held to music supplied by Mr A. Hyde, of Bunnythorpc, and Mr B. Cumming, while several novelty dances added to the enjoyment. Mr J. Walker, on behalf of the residents, mad.o tho presentation of an electric heater to Mr and Mrs Caldwell, at the same time expressing ihe regret everyone felt at their departure; in their lengthy residence in the Aratika district thoy had gained tlie friendship and esteem of all. Mr Caldwell expressed the regret both ho and Mrs Caldwell felt ill leaving the district, and thanked the gathering and residents for the good wishes which had been extended to them as well as the beautiful gift. On behalf of the younger folk, Mr C. Burr called upon tile Misses Dungey to accept a table laden with gifts from thoir many friends Mr Burr also convoying the best wishes of the gathering for their future happiness. Mr H. Wilton replied on behalf of Miss B. Dungey and Mr R. Clark on behalf of Miss L; Dungey.
