SKINS AND HIDES.
PALMERSTON NORTH SALE, Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their .monthly skin appraisal and hide sale held on May 29 and 30 respectively: —Sheepskins: Phi I ** on the same level as last month. Hides: Prices showed a considerable reduction on last sale owing to the unsettled conditions of the export market, the majority of the prices being below S.D.P. value. No calfskins were offered. Prices received were: Sheepskins: Lambs, lOd to lid; fine hoggets, 9Jd to lOd; hoggets, 8d to 9Jd; crossbred, 9id to lOd ; quarter and halfwools, 7f d to 9^d; shorts. 6d to 6£d; pelts 4id to 4jd ; crossbred, damaged, 7d to 83d; lambs, damaged. to 6d; inferior, damaged, 4d to Hides: Ox heavy, 7d to Sjd; medium, 63d to 7d; light. 5Jd to 63d; cow, heavy, 5-id to to 6|d medium, 5f to 6|d; light, 5| to 6£d; cow, medium. farmers, 5d to s§d; cows, light, farmers. 5d to sid; ylgs Ist., Bjd to 9|d;'hnd., 71d to Bjjd.
