(From Our Own Correspondent.) STANWAY, May 31.. A jolly party was held in the hall when a large gathering of young people met.; The stage and supper room wore prettily decorated. Mrs F. Crainc, wearing black crepe satin with a yoke of black Chantilly Paco, assisted by Miss Iris Crainc, m blue taffeta appliqued with dainty sprays of pale pink flowers, received the guests. Fergusson, I. Christian. D. Young (Palmerston North), A. Crainc: Mr and Mrs Lawrence (Sandon), Mr and Mrs R. C. I-iamilton, Mrs Macfarlane and Mrs T. E. Crainc. At the monthly mooting of the School Committee. Mr C. Christian presided. Also present were Messrs R. Hamiltop "(secretary). P. B t erne. 1,. Cole. M. Mitchell, h. Cowdrey and M. I,cot.' The teacher (Mr Loot) reported that two children had been employed to cut the lawns during the term holidays. As, during the winter months, llie children ■ were usually provided with hot cocoa, it was decided to continue this practice, arrangements being left in the hands of the teacher. It was also reported that the chimncv of the school stove was probably blocked _ by a bird’s nest, and the efficient heating of the school could not be carried out. It was decided to see to the matter immediately. The purchase of a weaving loom for the school was discussed and the teacher was authorised to order one. The, Anglican Church at Stanwav was almost' packed for the National day of prayer. Mr Low, a Feilding lay-preacher, conducted the service and Mrs M. Winder officiated at the organ. Miss AVhitley, of Pahiatua, is the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Mills.
