, STAFF OFFICERS. IMPORTANT CHANGES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 1. Important changes made in the General Staff at Army Headquarters are stated by Major-General J. E. Duigan to have been made to cope with the great increase in the work of the General Staff since the outbreak of the war, particularly in connection With the training of tlie Expeditionary Force, perfecting the plans lor the defence of the Dominion, and carrying into effect the Government’s recent - decision to institute .the intensive training of the Territorial Force 'and National Military Reserve. Colonel A. E. Conway, who lias been Director of Mobilisation, has relinquished that- post to take up that of Director of Military" Training. Lieu-tenant-Colonel L. G. Goss has vacated the appointment of General t .St-aff Officer to become personal assistant to Major-General... Dingan. LieutenantColonel Slierstcm becomes General .Staff Officer. Major R. H. Quilliam succeeds Lieutenant-Colonel Conway as Director of Mobilisation with promotion to lieutenant-colonel. Before taking up duty at Army Headquarters Major Quilliam was Crown Prosecutor and senior partner in a New Plymouth legal firm. 1 ' 1
