DEATH OF PEDESTRIAN.
RANGITIKEI LINE ACCIDENT. A fatal accident occurred on Rangitikei Line early last evening, Mr John T. Abel, single, 68 years of age, who was employed by. Mr E. Ivilgour, No. 4 Line, Iyairanga, being the victim. Apparently deceased was walking toward the city and suddenly stepped in front of a motor-car, waving liis, arm as if seeking a ride. The driver of the car, which came into collision with deceased, was Mr John Ernest Nash, of Church Street, Palmerston North, and He had four passengers in the car with him. The party were returning to the city from Bulls. The Free Ambulance was summoned to the scene, but death intervened before the arrival: of an ambulance. ■
