CIRCULAR CRITICISED.

CO-OPERATION NECESSARY. BUSINESSMAN’S VIEWS. When the latest circular was referred to the president of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce (Mr K. A. Henderson), to-day. he said: “There has been no time in the history of New Zealand when the cooperation between employer and employee is more necessary. No proper war effort can be made without this co-operation. The circular from the Wellington Clothing Trades Industrial Union does not assist in this direction but, on the contrary, militates against such necessary co-operation. It is quite evident, however, that this co-operation exists in Palmerston North, and reasonable employees are unlikely to take any notice of the circular. This is borne out by the magnificent response which was made voluntarily by different firms’ employees to the Sick, Wounded and Distress Appeal.”
