LAND DRAINAGE.

At a meeting of the Sluggish River Drainage Board, Mr E. J. Foster presided; Others present were Messrs M. J. Ryan, E. C. Print and W. H. Gimbl’ett. In reply to a letter received from Mr Say well regarding a weak bank on hi 6 property, it was decided to leave the matter i.n the hands of Messrs Foster and Bond, and to have tho work done ’preferably on a contract basis. The overseer reported that work is still being proceeded with on No. 1 portion of the main drain. The recent flood had brought down a number of slips and the bank in Mr Saywell’s property had been washed out where there had been an old wooden floodgate. T.lip new hank in Air Buchanan’s property was very weak, considerable strengthening having had to be <lo.nc during the recent flood. The floodgate on Messrs, Taylor and Morrison’s drain was leaking under the .concrete wall.
