FARMERS’ PART.
HOURS AND RETURNS. Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, May 31. A Mid-Canterbury farmers’ conference adopted a resolution denying the, suggestion that farmers desire to obtain higher- prices from Britain for produce, but pointing out that this attitude is only possible if other sections are prepared to accept a similar attitude and work harder for a smaller, net return. It was also resolved to urge the Government to suspend the 40-hour week to enable full production for the war effort.
